  • Sometimes the public catch up with a talent that has been around for years and wonder why they hadn' t discovered it before. Such is the case with Kiki Dee, or 'Keek' as she's known to her friends. 'Keek' has been around for a little while longer than she'd like to admit (her first record was released in 1964 - but she was very young at the time!) and since then she's been making a lot of very good records but not getting the public acclaim she deserves. She has always been rated, by the industry itself, as one of Britain's finest female vocalists, but for some reason that hasn't been reflected in sales - until now.Among Kiki's recording experience was a contract with Motown, the Detroit based black company that nurtured Diana Ross and the Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and many other hit artists. Kiki was one of the first white artists to be signed, and recorded only one album for Motown. It is a very fine example of Kiki's extraordinary vocal talent, supported by some excellent Motown arrangements by Frank Wilson, producer of the Four Tops, Eddie Kendricks and the Supremes. Included are the two singles she released for the company, The Day Will Come Between Sunday And Monday and Love Makes The World Go Round - a big hit in the States for her.Kiki Dee is finally recognised as one of Britain's leading ladies. But her success is by no means temporary. She has a lasting talent that has been waiting for years to be uncovered by the public. This album stands as testimony of that fact.Note: this album comprises mostly of the album 'Great Expectations' but replaces the last tracks on either side with other material recorded at the same time.
